This was a collage project I made in Media Arts class, which consists of using online images and some of my own. After attending an artist lecture, I was inspired by this bookbinding artist. Her name is Erin Fletcher and she created these beautiful book covers. I became interested in the work she does, which led me to this idea of turning my collage design into a book. I title
the piece “Dreamscape” and came up with a made-up story. For the title, I used the typeface Vivaldi Italic to give it a flowy, elegant look. I also incorporate the shade of blue with the butterfly symbol to match the aesthetic. Another way I expanded the idea further is by taking some objects out from my design, such as the butterflies on the clouds and the moon in the background, and adding them onto the bookmark and a tote bag for the book merchandise.
