Dreamscape This was a collage I made in Media Arts 1 class, which
consists of using online images and some of my own.
Last week, I attended an art lecture where I found
inspiration in the bookbinding artist Erin Fletcher,
who created these beautiful book covers. I became
interested in the work she does, which led me to this
idea of turning the collage into a book cover. I also
decided to use the name “Dreamscape” as my book
title and created a made-up name for the author. For
the title, I used the typeface Vivaldi Italic to give it a
flowy, elegant look. In my design, I incorporate the
shade of blue with the butterfly symbol to match the
aesthetic. Another way I expanded the idea further is
by taking some objects out from my design, such as
the butterflies on the clouds and the moon in the
background, and putting them onto the bookmark
and tote bag for the book merchandise.
