The Tobacco-Free Campaign
This was a poster illustration I created in Digital Media Class. I chose to make a poster conveying the message about the danger of smoking. In my poster I used the lungs as the graphic imagery. I added a gradient color to the lungs to create that decaying effect of what a smoker’s lung would look like compared to a nonsmoker’s. In the details of the fire below, I used a darker color for the flames as well as to add more emphasis on the smoke and centered the pile of burning cigarettes to the lungs. As for my typeface, I wanted the message to feel connected to the imagery. The first typeface has the texture that appears like smoke; as for the second one, it has more of a spray paint feel to it. This illustration piece is transformed into a campaign advertised on a street bus ad and featuring other related designs on stickers and pins.
